Telecommuting As An Option

With gas prices going through the roof, more employers are considering allowing their staff the privilege of telecommuting. Statistics show that there are currently over 22 million people in the United States who work from home at least one day per week, and the number is expected to continue to rise, largely due to the escalating price of gas. While more employers are embracing the concept, there are still some that have not accepted the idea of telecommuting. They cite concerns about employee productivity and security. However, reports show that productivity is actually higher among telecommuters. And employees are happy to save time commuting and money spent on gas, as they do their jobs from their homes.

New technology has made telecommuting a concept worth considering for more and more. Even the Federal Government has begun plans to allow staff to work from home on certain projects. The advent of networking software that allows employees to log in to work computers from their homes has made telecommuting an excellent answer for some. Is it, however, the right thing for you?

The key to success when working from home is to behave just as you would if you were going into the office. You should get up and “go to work” at a scheduled time and quit at certain time. You should get dressed and go to your home office, just as you would if working in an outside office. Distractions are often frequent at home and you should make every effort to ignore them.

One of the imperative things to consider with working from home is the importance of setting and sticking to a routine. You should take regular meal breaks just as you would in an office. And at the end of the day, you should shut down your computer and close the door to your home office.

Advise family members that this is actually your work time and you can not be interrupted. Ignore the ringing phone, and don’t answer personal emails. Though it can be difficult, sticking to these simple rules will allow you to be more successful and productive if you choose to work from home.

vibration training is a simple solution to preventing age-related muscle loss. Not only does it improve muscle strength, but also increases flexibility and range of motion, enhances critical blood flow throughout the body, expedites the recovery and regeneration of damaged tissue and ultimately enhances the general wellness and quality of life for Individuals .

Balance is also improved as vibration confuses the brain into automatically trying to subconsciously control balance. One study testing the chair rising time of the elderly using a control group, a placebo group and a group that did vibration training, showed that the vibration toning group had 18% gains in chair raising time.

People with Multiple Sclerosis are often unable to exercise normally because the brain is no longer capable of controlling the muscles properly. However, muscles are activated in an entirely different way while using vibration training because it causes a stretch reflex without conscious effort.

These reflexes are possible because the actual disease affects the nervous system rather than the muscle tissue. vibration toning will not cure People with these conditions, but will allow them to activate the muscles, thus greatly enhancing ones quality of life.

Practical experience has shown that these patients get stronger and less dependent on others, and experience less pain. Individuals tend to feel better and have more energy to cope with their everyday activities.

T-Shirts As Promotional Leisurewear

January 5, 2009 · Filed Under Customer Service · Comment
by Matthew Calvin

More companies are selecting T-shirts as their promotional leisurewear item of choice when they are deciding on how best to spend their marketing dollars. T-shirts have risen to the top of the popularity charts because they offer limitless options for selling the brand name or logo. Their value as a marketing item is enhanced by the fact that they also are popular among all age groups. Everyone is always glad to receive a free T-shirt.

T-shirts are the most effective promotional gifts because their nature allows them to communicate your marketing message to large numbers of people at a time. Once they are imprinted with the brand name, the logo will last for the life time of the shirt. When considering promotional leisurewear, you are offered plenty of choices such as T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Fleeces and Jackets, and Hats and Caps. All of the items are offered in a variety of designs and price ranges.

The T-shirts are the best way to communicate the brand message to the public. Most of the people use T-shirts as casual wear and wear them to market places, movie halls or sports grounds. In all such places, they meet or interact with a large number of people. There can be two types of communication in such situations. The customer who is wearing the brand-imprinted shirt may interact with his friends or acquaintances. The T-shirt, and hence the brand, may become the topic of their discussion.

Personal interactions are considered more convincing because of the circumstance of the people knowing each other. Another type of communication is more indirect and occurs when people only see the brand name or logo displayed from afar with no interaction with the wearer. Thus, we find that promotional clothing offers better impact when spending your marketing dollars, especially if the garment is worn amongst friends or family.

To get the biggest bang for your buck from promotional T-shirts, you must have them printed suitably. The desired quality and desired colour should be considered when choosing printed T-shirts for your promotional program. Both of these considerations have a large impact on the effectiveness of the purchase.
