Anybody who has lived long enough to be more than just a stuffed shirt has learnt a lot of things about life the hard way. Anyone who has spent enough time in the world to have at least one incoherent thought has realised that there are actually a lot of mistakes you can avoid quite easily if you learn to listen.

Whatever aspect of life you are passing through, whether it is your baby who has started teething, sibling rivalry or expecting some freaky gusts - you would look for help and won’t mind a few guidelines.

Whatever you need to know about, you’ll find numerous blogs offering plenty of advice. People who have faced similar problems and situations willingly part with their experiences and how they handled each circumstance. These blogs simply make your life easier, because all solutions are clearly available and there’s no need to re-invent the wheel.

They could be a lot more straightforward - little snippets about things that happened, maybe a fluke pinch of something that made some chocolate chip cookies turn out to be divine, maybe something as grave as how juggling too many things can make a family suffer - but these will be real experiences you can relate to and learn from.

The blogs are not simply about things you can learn or get advice from, they can be fun and interesting too. Hobbies to engage in if you are stressed, activities for relaxing and pranks to play on people who make your life miserable and such things can be found in these blogs.

When was the last time you held control over your life? Awkward and embarrassing incidents are aplenty in our lives and there’s always a way to deal with them. These blogs help you relate to other people and give you plenty of insight into how you can deal with a variety of situations in daily life. Sometimes, the humour in your circumstance can be highly amusing.

If tips are what you need, you’ll find it all, whether it’s about super-cleaning your clothes, assembling a computer, writing a novel or anything else. While you learn new things, don’t forget to share something you know too. All blogs welcome comments from visitors, so let them know something new.

Everybody has a wealth of experience that can be learnt from. It’s not just you who can learn from the things you did wrong and the things you did right. You can let people know, and make a difference in their lives, all through having a blog.

Develop a Green Thumb by Growing Herbs

December 17, 2008 · Filed Under Blogging · Comment
by Den M Smythe

If you are interested in growing herbs and in home schooling, the best way to find out is to browse through http://kcbcc.org for useful information. On this website there are posts at present which talk about herbs and home schooling and you will get interesting and useful information on these topics.

Herbs are something which enhance the flavor of your food, smell sweet, are beneficial for health and are easy to grow. If you have green fingers and like gardening, you can grow these herbs yourself, in your kitchen garden, on your porch or patio or even keep them in your living room. They look great and give a good feeling while they make the area nicely perfumed and scented.

There are many types of herbs, some are good for diabetes, others prevent diseases, and the rest enhance the taste of the food you eat. The basic herbs that are grown and used are thyme, garlic, oregano, basil, dill, and chives while lavender, peppermint and chamomile make delicious tea when they are added.

Herbs need good soil, enough water and drainage, room to grow and sunlight. They need six hours of sunlight daily and if this is not possible then a special growth lamp can be switched on for the purpose. When grown at home, you can use beautiful pots on which you can paint lovely designs. You will have a good dcor which is pleasing and cool.

Many parents prefer home schooling for their children. Most areas have home schooling but in case your area does not have one, you can start one yourself. You can talk to parents of children and form a group. You can share the responsibilities or take on home schooling by rotation. You can start in a shed, or if the weather in your area is good, in a park, or you can also have it at home.

There are certain rules and regulations which have been formulated so that every child has an all round development and gets quality education. Though the basic rules may be similar in all states, it is always better to find out the exact rules of your area. Otherwise, if you don’t follow them you may land in jail.

When you wish to start home schooling for your child, you should have a proper room to create a good atmosphere. It should have the necessary desks and chairs, books, pens and pencils and should not have unnecessary distractions like TV, telephone, music system, toys which are not educational or computers. The atmosphere should be good and healthy so that the children enjoy themselves and also learn.

Home schooling socialization can be done by taking your children to exhibitions, sales, other school programs so that they get used to meeting other children of their age and socializing.

Why All Bloggers Must Participate in Blog Carnivals (Part 2)

December 16, 2008 · Filed Under Blogging · Comment
by Jared Conley

In the prior article in this series, I discussed what blog carnivals are and why all up and coming bloggers should be participating in them. In the event that you missed that article, let me review quickly the benefits to participating in blog carnivals:

* They improve your authority

* You quickly get profitable, regular readers of your partner blogs

* You get a quick surge of traffic to blog entries

* You get a long term improvement in search result rankings

What I’m going to review in this post is how you can derive the most benefit out of your carnival participation. Let’s face it, carnivals take effort and time, so you should get the most good will and benefit from them as possible. Here’s how you can do just that:

1) Add your articles early. There will be a call for entries deadline, but it’s likely that the host already has some idea on how the article will be structured before the deadline, so you want your article available during this planning stage.

2) Make the host’s job easy: Learn how to create blog post titles that are clever, and brainstorm two or three powerful, compelling headings that can be used for the anchor text in links. Good headings are hard to create, so create them on your own. You’ll save the host the effort and get more traffic from a better headline.

3) Follow the submission guidelines.

4) Get organized: Organize the information you submit. Include your e-mail address, name, blog name, post title, article summary, several sample headings, trackback URL, and permalink. Place this information in an e-mail above the full post itself, unless otherwise directed.

5) Promote: Once submitted, be sure to advertise the carnival. What goes around comes around, and your collaborative efforts to drive traffic will payoff for everyone in the long run. That’s the point of these carnivals: all participants are sharing readers, giving each the opportunity to attract the others’ regular subscribers.

6) Make sure your blog can handle your traffic: Prepare your blog for any traffic surges that might occur, and optimize the page that the carnival readers will be viewing. You’ll want to target the offers or ads to your audience, provide a very conspicuous subscribe link, and follow-up with at least one week’s worth of strong articles to capitalize on any lingering traffic you might have.

Blog carnivals are a terrific way to attract relevant, qualified, profitable, long-term readers. Use them intelligently and you’ll reap the rewards. But you must be prepared to put your best foot forward. Pick up a good blogs how to if you have any doubts on how you can prepare your blog for this kind of traffic.

Enjoy Life

Life idea is a website which gives a variety of posts. Readers and writers write on a whole lot of topics. Travel, leisure, food, entertainment, you name it and it is there on this website.

Some of the topics currently on this website are on avoiding jetlag, throwing a successful party, baking a perfect cake, being a perfect host, tips on making kiddy’s parties great and others.

Those who travel a lot and fly for long hours, often suffer from jetlag. The time zones in the world are such that you gain hours when you travel west and lose hours when you travel east. Sleep, food, bowel movement all may be affected. But f you take adequate care, jetlag may not be a problem.

If the journey has been decided in advance, you should alter your schedule beforehand to get your body ready for jet lag after the journey. You can change your bedtime and food time slightly so that there will not be any problem. On the flight you should have enough water intakes to prevent dehydration. Coffee and tea will not benefit. You should keep walking or moving so that your muscles do not give a problem. Most airlines give suggestions of suitable exercises to be done while flying and you should follow them. Then there will not be any jetlag problem. However jetlag lasts only for a day or two after which your body will get used to the new place.

There is a post on this website which tells how to be a perfect host at parties. Guests come for parties to forget their worries and have fun. The host has to make his party entertaining and full of fun. The host has to be alert and sober all the time as he has to be ready to face any problem that might arise. If any guest wants to stay overnight there should be a room ready for them.

Guests should not be allowed to drive after drinks. If they insist on going home, a taxi should be called instead of allowing the guest to take his car. Food and drinks should be served with care and caution. There should be enough tables for guests to rest their plates and glasses. If there are waiters or bartenders, that would make the party easier for you. Card games and other such games should be arranged to entertain the guests.

Children’s parties have to be better planned. These tiny guests have a lot of likes and dislikes. Some may prefer chocolate flavor in their cakes, others may prefer vanilla or some other flavor. So cakes in different flavors should be ready so that children can choose their flavors. Some of your friends can be roped in to help. Furniture should be kept in such a way that the little guests don’t bump into each other. Games have to be thoughtfully arranged. Lots of prizes, take home parcels, return gifts, surprises and other such things will ensure that the party is a great success.

Cakes and other food should be in a variety of flavors as children have their own preferences. Most like chocolate flavor but others may like other flavors. There should be enough space for the little ones to run and play. They should have enough entertainment and enough surprises for them to enjoy. Children love return gifts, surprise prizes and the like. Care has to be taken that they do not fight with each other or get upset over some trifling thing.
